Hamitic
Hamitic este un termen istoric pentru popoarele care se presupune că au coborât din fiul lui Noe Ham, paralel cu semiticile și Japheticele. A fost folosită pentru a eticheta limbile non-semite în familia limbilor afroasiatice, care a fost denumită anterior "Hamito-Semitic". Se spune că limbile hamitice includ ramurile berber, cushitic și egiptean. Totuși, deoarece, spre deosebire de semitice, aceste ramuri nu s-au dovedit a forma o unitate filogenetică exclusivă proprie, separate de alte limbi afroasiatice, termenul fiind depășit în acest sens. Fiecare dintre aceste ramuri este în prezent privită ca un subgrup independent al familiei afroasiatice mai mari. În secolul al XIX-lea, ca aplicație pseudoscientifică a "rasismului științific", autorii europeni au clasificat "rasa hamitică" ca un subgrup al rasei caucaziene, împreună cu rasa semitoasă - grupând astfel populațiile nesemitice native din Africa de Nord, în Cornul Africii și în Arabia de Sud, inclusiv în Egiptenii Antic. Conform teoriei lui Hamitic, această "rasă Hamitic" a fost superioară sau mai avansată decât populațiile de Negru din Africa Subsahariană. În forma sa cea mai extremă, în scrierile lui C. G.
Definiția Hamitic în dicționarul Engleză
Prima definiție a lui Hamitic în dicționar este un grup de limbi N africane legate de semitice. Acestea sunt clasificate acum în patru subfamilii separate ale familiei afro-asiatice: egiptean, berber, cushitic și chadic. O altă definiție a lui Hamitic denotă, se referă sau aparține acestui grup de limbi. Hamitic denotă, de asemenea, apartenența sau caracteristica Hamites.
