Chamaedaphne
Chamaedaphne calyculata, piele de porc, este un arbust în familia de plante Ericaceae și singura specie din genul Chamaedaphne. Are o distribuție largă în regiunile temperate și subarctice reci din emisfera nordică. Este un arbust cu creștere înaltă, de până la 1,5 m înălțime. Frunzele sunt aranjate alternativ pe ramură și eliptice până la forma alungită, de 3-4 cm lungime, groasă și piezoasă, cu scale mici și o culoare mai deschisă pe partea inferioară și o margine întregă sau neregulată. Ele sunt verzui, dar de multe ori devin roșu-brun în timpul iernii. Florile sunt mici, albe și asemănătoare clopotului, produse în panicule de până la 12 cm lungime. Locația speciilor este limitată la mlaștini, unde formează în mod natural colonii clonale mari. Numele Chamaedaphne provine din greacă pentru "lauri de pământ"; numele obișnuit provine din frunza dură, din piele. Leatherleaf este utilizat ca plantă alimentară de către larvele unor specii de Lepidoptera, inclusiv Coleophora ledi.
