Istoria naturala
Istoria naturală este cercetarea și studiul organismelor, inclusiv a plantelor sau animalelor din mediul lor, înclinându-se mai mult spre metode observaționale decât experimentale. Aceasta cuprinde cercetarea științifică, dar nu se limitează la ea, articolele de astăzi publicate mai des în reviste decât în reviste academice. Grupat printre științele naturii, istoria naturală este studiul sistematic al oricărei categorii de obiecte sau organisme naturale. No naturalist has devoted more painstaking attention to the structure of the barnacles than Mr. Darwin.
