Un ocean (din grecescul antic Ὠκεανός (Okeanos), Oceanul ocean al antichității clasice) este un corp de apă salină care compune o mare parte a hidrosferei planetei. Pe Pământ, un ocean este una dintre principalele diviziuni convenționale ale Oceanului Mondial, care ocupă două treimi din suprafața planetei.
