Un pașaport este un document de călătorie, eliberat, de obicei, de guvernul unei națiuni, care certifică identitatea și naționalitatea deținătorului său în scopul călătoriei internaționale. Pașapoartele standard conțin numele titularului, locul și data nașterii, fotografia, semnătura și alte informații de identificare. Pașapoartele se îndreaptă către includerea informațiilor biometrice încorporate într-un microcip încorporat în document, făcându-le să fie citite de mașină și dificil de contrafăcut. Un pașaport specifică cetățenia, dar nu neapărat locul de reședință al titularului pașaportului.
