Cerul este tot ceea ce se află la o anumită distanță deasupra suprafeței Pământului, inclusiv atmosfera și spațiul cosmic. În domeniul astronomiei, cerul este numit și sfera cerească. Aceasta este o cupolă imaginară în care sunt văzute soarele, stelele, planetele și luna. Sfera cerească este împărțită convențional în regiuni numite constelații.
