Snowdon este cel mai înalt munte din Țara Galilor, la o altitudine de 1.085 de metri deasupra nivelului mării, și cel mai înalt punct din insulele britanice din afara Highlands Scoției. Este situat în Parcul Național Snowdonia din Gwynedd și a fost descris ca fiind "probabil cel mai aglomerat munte din Marea Britanie". Este desemnată ca o rezervație naturală națională pentru flora și fauna ei rară. Stâncile care formează Snowdon au fost produse de vulcani în perioada Ordoviană, iar masivul a fost puternic sculptat de glaciații, formând vârful piramidal al Snowdon și artele lui Crib Goch și Y Lliwedd. Stâncile de pe Snowdon, inclusiv Clogwyn Du'r Arddu, sunt semnificative pentru alpinism, iar muntele a fost folosit de Edmund Hillary pentru formarea pentru ascensiunea din 1953 a Muntelui Everest. Snowdon oferă unele dintre cele mai bune puncte de vedere din Marea Britanie. Summit-ul poate fi atins de o serie de căi bine cunoscute, iar prin Snowdon Mountain Railway, o cale ferată cu pinion și pinion deschisă în 1896, care transportă pasageri de la Llanberis până la stația de vârf.
