În fonetică și fonologie, un sonor este un sunet de vorbire care este produs cu flux continuu de aer ne-turbulent în tractul vocal; acestea sunt manierele de articulare, cele mai des exprimate în limbile lumii. Vocalele sunt sonori, precum și consonanțele de genul / m / și / l /: aproximante, nazale, robinete și trilițe. În ierarhia sonorității, toate sunetele mai mari decât fricative sunt sonori.
