Definiția specimen în dicționarul Engleză
Prima definiție a specimenului din dicționar este un individ, un obiect sau o parte considerată tipică grupului sau clasei din care face parte. O altă definiție a specimenului este un eșantion de țesut, sânge, urină etc., care este luat pentru examinarea sau evaluarea diagnosticului. Specimenul este, de asemenea, întregul sau o parte a unui organism, a plantei, a rockului etc., colectat și conservat ca un exemplu al clasei, speciei etc.
