Lumea a treia
Termenul "Lumea a treia" a apărut în timpul Războiului Rece pentru a defini țările care au rămas nealiniate fie cu NATO, fie cu Blocul Comunist. Această terminologie a oferit o modalitate de a clasifica pe larg națiunile Pământului în trei grupuri bazate pe diviziuni sociale, politice, culturale și economice. Lumea a treia a fost în mod normal considerată a include multe țări cu trecut colonial în Africa, America Latină, Oceania și Asia. De asemenea, a fost uneori considerat sinonim cu țările din Mișcarea Nealiniată.
