Acule, Botanik'te incinmeyen ince ve narin tutucuları belirtmek için kullanılan terimdir. Uzamış olarak, asiküler organlar uzun ve ince olanlar, özellikle de "iğneler" olarak adlandırılan çamların yapraklarıdır. Zooloji veya Mineraloji gibi diğer disiplinlerde de bu terim kullanılır; bunlar daima organlara veya diğer uzun, ince ve sivri unsurlara atıfta bulunur.
İspanyolca sözlükte acicular sözcüğünün tanımı
İspanyol dilinin gerçek akademisinin sözlüğünde akikülün ilk tanımı iğne şeklindedir. Sözlükde bulunan bir başka akustik anlam da, bazı minerallerin dokusuyla ilgilidir: İğneler gibi ince liflerde görülür. Acicular ayrıca, bazı dökümhanelerde ve çeliklerde gözlemlenen iğneler veya açılı formdaki mikrografik yapıdan bahsedilmektedir.
