Bastion
Eine Bastion ist eine eckige Struktur, die von der Vorhangwand einer Artillerieverstärkung nach außen vorsteht. Bastion-Befestigungen boten einen größeren Grad an passivem Widerstand und mehr Spielraum für Distanz-Verteidigung im Zeitalter der Schießpulver Artillerie im Vergleich zu den mittelalterlichen Befestigungen, die sie ersetzt.
