Ceiba pentandra Telugu: బూరుగ ist ein tropischer Baum der Ordnung Malvales und die Familie Malvaceae, gebürtig nach Mexiko, Mittelamerika und der Karibik, im Norden Südamerikas und im tropischen Westafrika. Kapok ist der am häufigsten verwendete gemeinsame Name für den Baum und kann sich auch auf die aus seinen Samenhülsen gewonnene Baumwolle beziehen.
