Buße ist die Buße der Sünden ebenso wie der Eigenname des römisch-katholischen, orthodoxen Christen und des anglikanischen Sakraments der Buße und der Versöhnung / des Bekenntnisses. Buße und Buße, ähnlich in ihrer Ableitung und ihrem ursprünglichen Sinn, sind gekommen, um widersprüchliche Ansichten über das Wesen der Umkehr zu symbolisieren, die sich aus der Kontroverse über die jeweiligen Verdienste von "Glauben" und "guten Werken" ergeben.
