Wryneck
Die Wrynecks sind eine kleine, aber unverwechselbare Gruppe von kleinen Old World Spechte. Sie verwenden Spechtlöcher zum Nisten, anstatt ihre eigenen Löcher zu machen. Die Eier sind weiß, wie bei vielen Lochnestern. Die beiden Arten haben kryptisches Gefieder, mit komplizierter Musterung von Grautönen und Braunen. Die Stimme ist ein nasalspechtartiger Ruf.
