Book

Libro

A book is a work printed, handwritten or painted on a series of sheets of paper, parchment, vellum or other material, joined on one side and protected with covers, also called covers. A book can be about any topic. According to Unesco's definition, a book must have 49 or more pages, since from 5 to 48 pages would be a booklet, and from one to four pages are considered single sheets. Also called "book" is a large work published in several independent units, called "volumes" or "volumes". Other times it is also called "book" to each of the parts of a work, although physically they are all published in one volume. Today, however, this definition is not confined to the printed world or physical media, given the appearance and rise of new documentary formats and especially the World Wide Web. The digital book or electronic book, known as e-book, is seeing increased use in the world of books and professional practice librarian and documentary. In addition, the book can also be found in audio format, in which case it is called audiobook.
