Otoesclerosis

Otosclerosis is a primary metabolic bone disease of the optic capsule and the oscicular chain that causes fixation of the ossicles with the resulting hearing loss. It is a genetic transmission disease that is transmitted by autosomal dominant with incomplete penetrance and variable expression. It consists of an osteodystrophy of the labyrinthine capsule characterized by the appearance of resorption foci and new bone formation in any part of the same. Foci do not have this location. " La otoesclerosis es una enfermedad metabólica ósea primaria de la cápsula ótica y la cadena oscicular que causa fijación de los huesecillos con la resultante hipoacusia. Se trata de una enfermedad de transmisión genética que se transmite por vía autosómica dominante con penetrancia incompleta y expresión variable. Consiste en una "osteodistrofia de la cápsula laberíntica caracterizada por la aparición de focos de resorción y neoformación óseas en cualquier parte de la misma. Cuando estos focos afectan a la base del estribo producen sordera por inmovilización de la articulación estapediovestibular. Puede ser asintomática cuando los focos no tienen esta localización."...
