Window

Ventana

A window is a hollow or hollow raised on the floor, which opens on a wall with the purpose of providing light and ventilation to the corresponding room. Also called a window is the set of devices that are used to close that gap. The term comes from the Latin ventus, referring to the ventilation capacity it provides. Formerly the window was also denominated fenestra or also denominated "finistra", of identical form as it is called in Latin and Greek. This would be the direct mode of etymological derivation. However, although this name is now in disuse, it does retain words related to it, as defenestrate means to throw someone through a window.
