Eosinophilic gastritis In general, the lesion can be seen only in the stomach, small intestine, or upper part. In some cases, there is no gross abnormality in the lesion area. Usually, the thickening wall becomes hypertrophied and sometimes nodular. The mesentery and its lymph nodes may also be invaded. Microscopically, infiltration of eosinophils occurs throughout the entire wall. Peripheral pain, diarrhea, and sometimes allergic symptoms of peripheral blood eosinophilia, stenosis near the pylorus at the lower gastrointestinal tract may appear on the X-ray, and the small intestine may show stenosis and enlargement. Steroids are effective for treatment.

호산구성위장염 일반적으로 위와 소장, 또는 위에서만 병변을 볼 수 있고 병변부위는 육안적으로 이상이 나타나지 않는 경우도 있는데 보통은 저막벽이 비후해 때로는 결절상이 된다. 장간막이나 그림프절도 침범되는 수가 있다. 현미경적으로는 벽의 전층에 걸쳐서 호산구의 침윤이 나타난다. 말초혈의 호산구는 복통, 설사, 때로는 알러지 증상이 나타나고 위전저부에서 유문부 근처의 협착이 X-선에서 나타나, 소장에도 협착과 확장을 보게 되는 수가 있다. 치료로서는 스테로이드가 효과적이다.
