It is also known as nobi-songpyeon in Jeollanam-do and moshi-songpyeon in Kyongnam. Songpyeon with mossy leaves is a delicious rice cake which is mainly eaten in southern province, especially Jeolla-do, where mosses are grown a lot. In the old days, there was a tradition of encouraging the noodles to feed the noodles to the noodles by feeding the noodles with the number of the noodles.

모시잎송편 삶은 모시잎과 불린 쌀을 가루로 만들어 익반죽한 다음 팥고물, 동부고물, 깨고물 등을 넣고 송편을 빚어 찐 떡이다. 경남에서는 쪄낸 떡에 참기름을 바르고 감잎에 싸며 콩고물, 양대콩, 밤, 대추를 소로 이용하기도 한다. 전남에서는 노비송편, 경남에서는 모시송편이라고도 한다.모시잎이 들어간 송편은 쫄깃한 맛과 오래 두어도 쉽게 굳지 않는 장점이 있으며 모시가 많이 재배되는 남부 지방, 특히 전라도에서 주로 먹는 별미떡이다. 옛날에는 2월 초하루 중화절식을 노비일(奴婢日, 머슴날)이라 하여 노비들에게 노비송편을 나이 수대로 먹여 머슴들을 위로하고 격려하는 풍습이 있었다.
