Matang is a mukim in Taiping district, Perak state, Malaysia near the Straits of Malacca. The word "mature" is the abbreviation for the word "ridge" which means "fortress". Permatang is usually located by the sea or river and acts as a flood barrier. The height of the earth's surface is low between the sea level up to 50 meters.
