Wittelsbach

Wittelsbach - one of the oldest German dynasties. Its representatives were in the German states of Bavaria, Rhineland Palatinate and Transylvania in Brandenburg. They have won the throne three times in Germany, but have not managed to keep it in their family. They also sat on the throne of several European countries: Sweden, Denmark, Hungary, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Greece. Nowadays, since 1919, the Jacobites have been recognized as legitimate kings of England, Scotland and Ireland.
