WHAT DOES IBIOCA MEAN IN PORTUGUESE?

Coral snake

Corals are small snakes, easily recognized by their vivid coloring. There are venomous and non-venomous corals, but it is difficult to distinguish it, only possible by careful examination of the position of the prey or the quality of the drawings. Coral snakes exist in South America, Central America and the South of the United States. It is also known by the names snake-coral-venomous, coral-venomous, coral-true, ibiboboca, ibiboca and ibioca. Its venom is by far far more toxic than that of the island's jararaca, the second most venomous snake in Brazil. Corals, in addition to being very visible due to their colors, do not present the attack behavior, for example, of rattlesnakes. Coral prey are small and may be located in the anterior portion of the mandible in the Micrurus, as in the posterior portion, in the Erythrolamprus, Oxyrhopus and Anilius. Therefore, they do not sting, but they bite the game to inoculate the venom. Coral snakes have a low molecular weight venom that spreads rapidly throughout the body.
