Law
Law is a norm or set of legal norms created through the processes proper to the normative act and established by the competent authorities to that effect. The word law can be employed in three different senses, according to the scope it is intended to give it. ▪ In a broad sense, law is any legal rule, written or not; here it covers the customs and all norms formally produced by the State, represented, for example, by the federal Constitution, provisional measure, decree, ordinary law, complementary law, etc. ▪ In a broad sense, law is only the written legal rule, thus excluding juridical custom from this meaning. ▪ Finally, in a technical and specific sense, the word law designates a written rule modality, which has certain characteristics; in Brazilian law, only complementary law and ordinary law are techniques. The law, in its formulation process, goes through several stages, established in the Constitution. In this process we have the initiative of the law, discussion, voting, approval, sanction, promulgation, publication and validity of the law.
