Pan (treatment)
Pan - a form of polite treatment, used in some Slavic languages: Polish, Czech, Slovak, Ukrainian, Belarusian, in Galicia was introduced in 1434, when King Vladislav III Varnenchik published grafts, which equalized the rights of Galician boyars with the Polish gentry, since pore all gentry and magnates changed the name of "boyars" to the title "pan." In the Old Russian language the word "pan" is fixed in the documents of Rus, the Galicia-Volyn principality: "And there were the Metropolitan of Kiev, the ruler of the Peremyslsky Larion and Prince Andrey Yaroslavivich and the Pan Vasco and other boyars were many at the same time."
