Contradicción
En la lógica clásica, una contradicción consiste en una incompatibilidad lógica entre dos o más proposiciones. Ocurre cuando las proposiciones juntas dan dos conclusiones que forman las inversiones lógicas, usualmente opuestas. Ilustrando una tendencia general en la lógica aplicada, la ley de no-contradicción de Aristóteles afirma que "no se puede decir de algo que es y que no está en el mismo respeto y al mismo tiempo". Por extensión, fuera de la lógica clásica, se puede hablar de contradicciones entre acciones cuando se supone que sus motivos se contradicen entre sí.
