Los vinos elaborados a partir de productos, además de las uvas, suelen tener el nombre del producto del que son producidos y se denominan genéricamente vino de frutas. El término "vino" también puede referirse a bebidas fermentadas con almidón o bebidas fortificadas que tienen un contenido alcohólico más alto, tal como vino de cebada, huangjiu o sake.
