Blackbirding
Blackbirding est la coercition des gens à travers des cascades et des enlèvements pour travailler comme ouvriers. À partir des années 1860, des navires de crique dans le Pacifique ont cherché des travailleurs à exploiter les dépôts de guano sur les îles Chincha au Pérou. Dans les années 1870, le commerce des Blackbirds s'est concentré sur l'approvisionnement des travailleurs en plantations, en particulier les plantations de canne à sucre du Queensland, de l'Australie et de la nation de Fidji. La première pratique documentée du blackbird pour les ouvriers de la canne à sucre s'est produite entre 1842 et 1904.
