Condamné

Un condamné est «une personne reconnue coupable d'un crime et condamnée par un tribunal» ou «une personne purgeant une peine en prison», parfois appelée en argot comme simplement «con». Les condamnés sont souvent appelés prisonniers ou détenus. Les personnes condamnées et condamnées à des peines non privatives de liberté ne sont souvent pas appelées «condamnés». Ex-convict est une façon courante de se référer à une personne qui a été libérée de prison. L'étiquette légale de «ex-convictive» a des implications durables beaucoup plus longues, de sorte que la personne peut subir des handicaps à long terme et une stigmatisation sociale, y compris la restriction de l'accès à certaines catégories d'emplois. Dans le contexte australien, le gouvernement fédéral n'employera généralement pas un ex-condamné, mais certaines autres organisations d'État peuvent ou non avoir un délai restreignant l'emploi.
