Existentialisme
L'existentialisme est un terme appliqué au travail de certains philosophes de la fin du XIXe et du XXe siècle qui, malgré de profondes différences doctrinales, ont partagé la conviction que la pensée philosophique commence avec le sujet humain - pas seulement le sujet pensant, mais l'action, le sentiment, la vie Individu humain. Dans l'existentialisme, le point de départ de l'individu se caractérise par ce qu'on appelle «l'attitude existentielle», ou un sentiment de désorientation et de confusion face à un monde apparemment sans signification ou absurde. Beaucoup d'existentialistes ont également considéré les philosophies traditionnelles systématiques ou académiques, à la fois comme un style et un contenu, trop abstraites et éloignées de l'expérience humaine concrète. Søren Kierkegaard est généralement considéré comme le premier philosophe existentialiste, bien qu'il n'utilise pas le terme existentialisme. Il a proposé que chaque individu - et non la société ou la religion - soit seul responsable de donner un sens à la vie et de le vivre avec passion et sincère. L'existentialisme est devenu populaire dans les années qui ont suivi la Seconde Guerre mondiale et a fortement influencé de nombreuses disciplines en dehors de la philosophie, y compris la théologie, le théâtre, l'art, la littérature et la psychologie.
