Finlandeisation
La finlandeisation est le processus par lequel un pays puissant influence fortement les politiques d'un petit pays voisin. Le terme signifie littéralement «devenir comme la Finlande» en se référant à l'influence de l'Union soviétique sur les politiques de la Finlande pendant la guerre froide. Le terme est généralement considéré comme péjoratif, originaire du débat politique de l'Allemagne de l'Ouest de la fin des années 1960 et 1970. Comme le terme a été utilisé en Allemagne et dans d'autres pays de l'OTAN, il a mentionné la décision d'un pays de ne pas contester un voisin plus puissant dans la politique étrangère, tout en maintenant la souveraineté nationale. Il est couramment utilisé en référence aux politiques finlandaises par rapport à l'Union soviétique pendant la guerre froide, mais il peut se référer plus généralement à des relations internationales similaires, telles que l'attitude du Danemark envers l'Allemagne entre 1871 et 1940.
