Rybinsk Reservoir
Rybinsk Reservoir, officieusement appelé Rybinsk Sea, est un réservoir d'eau sur la rivière Volga et ses affluents Sheksna et Mologa, formé par le barrage de la station hydroélectrique de Rybinsk, situé sur les territoires de Tver, Vologda et Yaroslavl Oblasts. Au moment de sa construction, c'était le plus grand corps d'eau artificiel sur Terre. C'est le point le plus au nord de la Volga. La Voie Volga-Baltique commence à partir de là. Les principaux ports sont Cherepovets dans l'oblast de Vologda et Vesyegonsk dans l'oblast de Tver. La construction du barrage à Rybinsk a commencé en 1935. Le remplissage du réservoir a commencé le 14 avril 1941 et s'est poursuivi jusqu'en 1947. Quelque 150 000 personnes ont dû être réinstallées ailleurs, et la ville historique de Mologa dans l'oblast de Yaroslavl avec 663 villages Ont complètement disparu sous l'eau.
