Spéculation

La spéculation est la pratique de s'engager dans des transactions financières risquées afin de tirer profit des fluctuations à court ou moyen terme de la valeur marchande d'un bien échangeable comme un instrument financier, plutôt que de tenter de tirer profit des attributs financiers sous-jacents incorporés dans l'instrument Comme gains en capital, intérêts ou dividendes. De nombreux spéculateurs accordent peu d'attention à la valeur fondamentale d'une sécurité et se concentrent plutôt sur les mouvements de prix. La spéculation peut en principe impliquer tout instrument commercial ou commercial négociable. Les spéculateurs sont particulièrement fréquents dans les marchés des actions, des obligations, des contrats à terme standardisés, des devises, des beaux-arts, des objets de collection, des biens immobiliers et des produits dérivés. Les spéculateurs jouent l'un des quatre principaux rôles dans les marchés financiers, ainsi que les hedgers qui s'engagent dans des transactions pour compenser certains autres risques préalables, les arbitrages qui cherchent à tirer profit des situations où les instruments fongibles se négocient à différents prix dans différents segments de marché et les investisseurs qui cherchent du profit Grâce à la propriété à long terme des attributs sous-jacents d'un instrument.
