QUE SIGNIFIE VLACH EN ANGLAIS
Vlachs
Vlach est un terme général couvrant plusieurs peuples latins modernes descendant de la population latinisée dans le territoire actuel de Roumanie et de Moldavie, ainsi que dans la partie sud de la péninsule balkanique et au sud et à l'ouest du Danube. Le terme Vlachos vient du mot allemand de l'origine celtique Walh, que les anciens Allemands appelaient les Romains et, plus largement, les peuples incorporés administrativement et culturellement dans le monde romain. Les Slaves médiévaux ont "emprunté" le mot et donc il s'est transformé phonétiquement en Vlah. Dans cette forme, il s'est développé en un terme utilisé pour définir les populations en Europe du Sud-Est qui parlent des variations de la langue balkanienne-romaine, c'est-à-dire les dialectes néo-latins de la région des Balkans. Les variations anglaises du nom comprennent Wallachians, Walla, Wlachs, Wallachs, Vlahs, Olahs ou Ulahs. Les groupes historiquement appelés Vlachs comprennent les Roumains modernes, les Aromaniens, les Morlachs, les Megleno-Roumains et les Istro-Roumains. Depuis la création de l'État roumain, le terme en anglais a été principalement utilisé pour ceux qui vivent en dehors de la Roumanie.
