Dans le sport du cricket, un large est l'une des deux choses suivantes: ▪ L'épreuve d'une balle livrée par un lanceur trop large ou élevé pour être touché par le batteur, et l'a jugé par l'arbitre. ▪ La course marquée par l'équipe de battage comme une pénalité pour l'équipe de bowling lorsque cela se produit. Un large ne compte pas comme une des six boules sur un dessus et ne compte pas comme une balle face au batteur. Lorsqu'une large est lancée, une course est ajoutée aux courses marquées sur cette balle et est marquée comme extras et sont ajoutées au total de l'équipe, mais ne sont ajoutées au total de bateaux. Un batteur ne peut, par définition, être bouleversé, jambe avant le guichet, attrapé ou frapper le ballon deux fois sur un large, car une balle ne peut pas être considérée comme large si la balle frappe la chauve-souris ou la personne du batteur. Il peut être sorti de la balle, frappé le guichet, obstruant le champ, épuisé ou perplexe. Si le gardien achète ou manque le ballon, les batteurs peuvent prendre des courses supplémentaires en toute sécurité et choisir de le faire. Le nombre de courses marquées est marqué comme large, pas par an. Ces extra-wid sont tous ajoutés au score du lanceur.
