Hostel - logement bon marché d'hébergement temporaire avec un standard différent de l'hôtel principalement nombre de chambres dans les chambres, lits superposés et la part de l'équipement et des chambres pour les invités. Les invités les plus fréquents à l'auberge sont les étudiants et les apprenants de différents pays. Il est caractéristique pour l'auberge de louer un lit, pas une pièce. La première auberge de jeunesse a été ouverte par Richard Schirrmann en Allemagne en 1912. Le concept de l'auberge est strictement liée à la notion de « backpackingu », qui est une forme spécifique de voyage, consistant généralement à déplacer de ville en ville par les transports en commun. "Backpacker" en anglais est un homme avec un sac à dos sur le dos. Récemment, cette forme de voyage est devenue un rôle de mode de vie. Les auberges ne répondent pas à certaines exigences légales, car elles ne peuvent pas utiliser le nom de l'hôtel ou du motel. Auberge est un mot de l'anglais, signifie auberge ou auberge, peut également signifier auberge de jeunesse. La langue d'accueil est souvent utilisée dans la langue du personnel de l'auberge.

Pierwszy hostel otwarty został przez Richarda Schirrmanna w Niemczech w roku 1912. Z pojęciem hostelu stricte związane jest pojęcie "backpackingu", czyli specyficznej formy podróżowania, najczęściej polegającej na przemieszczaniu się od miasta do miasta publicznymi środkami transportu. "Backpacker" w języku angielskim to człowiek z plecakiem na plecach. Ostatnio ta forma podróżowania urosła do roli sposobu na życie. Hostele nie spełniają pewnych wymogów formalnoprawnych, z powodu czego nie mogą używać nazwy hotel czy motel. Hostel jest słowem pochodzącym z języka angielskiego, oznacza schronisko lub noclegownię, może także oznaczać schronisko młodzieżowe. W języku pracowników hostelu często używa się skróconej nazwy "host".
