Nagant dans. 1895 - calibre de revolver belge de 7,62 mm, communément appelé nagan d'après l'orthographe russe et la prononciation phonétique. Le nom de l'arme vient du nom du constructeur belge - Eng. Emil Nagant. C'était le seul type de revolver étanche aux gaz plus connu. Pour son alimentation, des cartouches spéciales ont été utilisées. Le mécanisme approprié a fait que le cylindre atteigne l'entrée du canon. Le bord de la balance a été glissé dans le canon et, par conséquent, le joint a été scellé. La version du revolver conçue pour les sous-officiers nécessitait de tendre le pénis avant chaque tir. La variante destinée aux officiers, avait un mécanisme d'auto-taraudage pour le coq. Cela a fonctionné en appuyant sur la gâchette. Plus tard, la production du NCO a été abandonnée. Seule une variante auto-tendue est restée. L'arme était très populaire en Russie, dans la période avant la Première Guerre mondiale et dans l'entre-deux-guerres. Nagant wz. 1895 − belgijski rewolwer kalibru 7,62 mm, potocznie zwany nagan od rosyjskiej pisowni i wymowy fonetycznej. Nazwa broni pochodzi od nazwiska belgijskiego konstruktora - inż. Emila Naganta. Był to jedyny, szerzej znany, typ rewolweru gazoszczelnego. Do jego zasilania, używano nabojów o specjalnej konstrukcji. Odpowiedni mechanizm powodował dosuwanie bębenka do wlotu lufy. Krawędź łuski była wsuwana do lufy i w rezultacie następowało uszczelnienie połączenia. Wersja rewolweru przeznaczona dla podoficerów, wymagała napinania kurka przed każdym strzałem. Odmiana przeznaczona dla oficerów, posiadała mechanizm samonapinania kurka. Działał on podczas naciskania na język spustowy. W późniejszym czasie zrezygnowano z wytwarzania wersji podoficerskiej. W produkcji pozostał jedynie wariant z samonapinaniem. Broń była bardzo popularna w Rosji, w okresie przed I wojną światową oraz w okresie międzywojennym. Początkowo była dostarczana przez zakłady „Fabrique d’Arms Nagant Frères” w Liège, a następnie produkowana przez zakłady zbrojeniowe w Tule. Została przyjęta jako przepisowa broń krótka Armii Rosyjskiej.
