radula
A ferramenta oral característica do tecido mole é chamada de radula, rasp ou língua de fricção. Em seu treinamento básico, ele serve para moer, moer e coletar a comida na garganta. As espécies carnívoras também podem usar a radula para embalar e segurar bestas. A radula está presente em todos os camuflagens, com exceção dos mexilhões que vivem como um filtro, bem como alguns vermes e caracóis que se alimentam suavemente. Por esta razão, representa uma apomorfia substancial deste grupo. Ao mesmo tempo, as múltiplas modificações da radula são consideradas como a principal razão para o desenvolvimento de diferentes fontes de alimento e, portanto, para a distribuição generalizada e o elevado número de espécies dos moluscos, especialmente os caracóis.
