Apoziţie
Apropierea este o construcție gramaticală în care două elemente, în mod obișnuit expresii de substantive, sunt plasate una lângă cealaltă, cu un element care servește la definirea sau modificarea celeilalte. Când se utilizează acest dispozitiv, se spune că cele două elemente sunt în apoziție. De exemplu, în expresia "prietenul meu Alice", numele "Alice" este în apoziția "prietenului meu". În mod tradițional, appositions au fost numite de numele lor latin appositio, deși forma engleză este acum mai frecvent folosită. Este derivat din limba latină: ad și positio. Apropierea este o figură de vorbire a tipului de schemă și deseori rezultă atunci când verbul în clauzele de susținere este eliminat pentru a produce fraze descriptive mai scurte. Acest lucru le face adesea să funcționeze ca hiperbutelii sau figuri de tulburare, deoarece pot întrerupe fluxul unei sentințe.
