Debitor
Un debitor este o entitate care datorează o datorie unei alte entități. Entitatea poate fi o persoană fizică, o firmă, un guvern, o companie sau altă persoană juridică. Contrapartea este numită creditor. Atunci când contrapartida acestui aranjament al datoriilor este o bancă, debitorul este mai des menționată ca debitor. Dacă X a împrumutat bani de la banca sa, X este debitorul și banca este creditorul. Dacă X pune banii în bancă, X este creditorul și banca este debitorul.
