Istorie contemporană
Istoria contemporană descrie intervalul de timp care este strâns legat de ziua de azi; este o anumită perspectivă a istoriei moderne. Termenul "istorie contemporană" a fost folosit cel puțin de la începutul secolului al XIX-lea. În contextul cel mai larg al acestei utilizări, istoria contemporană este acea parte a istoriei încă în memoria vie. Bazându-se pe durata vieții umane, istoria contemporană se va extinde pe o perioadă de aproximativ 80 de ani. Evident, acest concept se schimbă în termeni absoluți pe măsură ce trec generațiile.
