Statut
Un statut este o adoptare oficială scrisă a unei autorități legislative care guvernează un stat, un oraș sau o țară. În mod obișnuit, statutele comandă sau interzic ceva sau declară politica. Cuvântul este adesea folosit pentru a distinge legea făcută de organele legislative de jurisprudență, hotărâtă de instanțe și regulamente emise de agențiile guvernamentale. Statutele sunt uneori denumite drept legislație sau "Legea privind scrisoarea neagră". Ca sursă de lege, statutul este considerat autoritate primară. În mod ideal, toate statutele trebuie să fie în armonie cu legea fundamentală a pământului. Acest cuvânt este folosit în contradicție cu dreptul comun.
