Design web fără tablă
Designul web fără tablă este o filozofie a designului web care evită utilizarea tabelelor HTML pentru scopurile de control al aspectului paginii. În loc de tabelele HTML, limbile pentru coli de stil, cum ar fi foile de stil cascadă, sunt folosite pentru a aranja elemente și text pe o pagină web. CSS a fost introdus în decembrie 1996 de către W3C pentru a îmbunătăți accesibilitatea web și pentru a face codul HTML pur și simplu semantic, mai degrabă decât prezentational. Aproximativ în același timp, la sfârșitul anilor 1990, când boom-ul de tip com-com a dus la o creștere rapidă a "noii media" a creării și designului de pagini web, a început o tendință de a utiliza tabele HTML, iar rândurile, coloanele și celulele , pentru a controla aspectul paginilor web întregi.
