Tempera, cunoscută și sub numele de tempera de ou, este un mediu de vopsire permanent, cu uscare rapidă, format din pigmenți colorați, amestecați cu un liant solubil în apă. Tempera se referă, de asemenea, la picturile realizate în acest mediu. Picturile temperale au o durată foarte lungă și există încă exemple din secolul I d.Hr.
