Monastik
Monastismus oder Mönchtum ist eine religiöse Lebensweise, in der man auf weltliche Verfolgungen verzichtet, um sich der geistigen Arbeit voll und ganz zu widmen. Viele Mönche und Nonnen leben in Klöstern, um sich von der weltlichen Welt zu befreien. Die Art der Bewältigung der Mönche unterscheidet sich zwischen den christlichen Traditionen. Als allgemeiner Regel werden im Römischen Katholizismus Mönche und Nonnen Bruder oder Schwester genannt, während im orthodoxen Christentum sie Vater oder Mutter genannt werden.
