Otosclerosis

Otosclerosis is a primary metabolic bone disease of the optic capsule and the oscicular chain that causes fixation of the ossicles with the resulting hearing loss. It is a genetic transmission disease that is transmitted by autosomal dominant with incomplete penetrance and variable expression. It consists of an osteodystrophy of the labyrinthine capsule characterized by the appearance of resorption foci and new bone formation in any part of the same. Foci do not have this location. "
