[8] La mise à la terre, en fonction des manœuvres du maître avant l'impact, peut entraîner l'échouage du navire. En fonction de la nature du relief du fond marin, c'est-à-dire étant boueux ou rocheux, des mesures différentes doivent être prises pour libérer le navire et le transporter dans un port sûr.
