Counterpoint

Dans la musique, le contrepoint est la relation entre les voix qui sont interdépendantes harmoniquement et pourtant sont indépendantes dans le rythme et le contour. Il a été le plus souvent identifié dans la musique classique, fortement développé pendant la Renaissance et dans une grande partie de la pratique courante, en particulier dans la musique baroque. Le terme provient du latin punctus contra punctum signifiant "point contre point". In music, counterpoint is the relationship between voices that are interdependent harmonically and yet are independent in rhythm and contour. It has been most commonly identified in classical music, strongly developing during the Renaissance and in much of the common practice period, especially in Baroque music. The term originates from the Latin punctus contra punctum meaning "point against point".
