Le complexe Folsom est un nom donné par les archéologues à une culture archéologique paléo-indienne spécifique qui occupait une grande partie de l'Amérique du Nord centrale. Le terme a été utilisé pour la première fois en 1927 par Jesse Dade Figgins, directrice du Colorado Museum of Natural History. De nombreuses cultures paléoindiennes ont occupé l'Amérique du Nord, dont certaines se sont limitées aux Grandes Plaines et aux Grands Lacs des États-Unis d'Amérique modernes et au Canada, ainsi que des zones adjacentes à l'ouest et au sud-ouest. La tradition de Folsom se caractérisait par l'utilisation de points de Folsom comme conseils et activités de projectiles connus des sites de destruction où l'abattage et le massacre des bisons ont eu lieu et les outils de Folsom ont été laissés pour compte. Certains sites de tuerie présentent des preuves de la mort de 50 bison, bien que le régime de Folsom ait apparemment inclus des moutons de montagne, des marmottes, des cerfs et un lapin à queue de coton. Un site de Folsom à Hanson, dans le Wyoming, a également révélé des zones difficiles, ce qui indique des logements possibles. Le site de type est Folsom Site, près de Folsom, au Nouveau-Mexique, dans le comté de Colfax, un site de destruction des marais situé vers 1908 par George McJunkin, un cow-boy et un ancien esclave qui avait vécu au Texas comme un enfant. Les archéologues ont fouillé le site en 1926.
