En matière de prostitution d'escorte, l'acte peut avoir lieu dans la résidence ou la chambre d'hôtel du client, ou dans la résidence de l'escorte ou dans une chambre d'hôtel louée pour l'occasion par l'escorte. Une autre forme est la prostitution des rues. Bien que la majorité des prostituées soient des femmes avec des clients masculins, il y a aussi des prostituées homosexuelles, des prostituées lesbiennes et des prostituées hétérosexuelles.
